Gypsy Ron Parent is often considered the last of a dying breed of 80s rock singers. His touring career in Canada commenced in the mid-80s, beginning on the East Coast of New Brunswick and Halifax with Sinis/Fallen Angel. He later joined forces with the Felman Agency in Vancouver, BC, performing with notable names in the Vancouver and West Coast music scene, including BoyzRoom and Tokyo Vogue from Edmonton, Alberta. In 88, he released his first two singles, ‘Take this love’ and ‘Streets of fire.’ The single led to his appointment as lead vocalist for Seventh Heaven, a prominent Winnipeg, Manitoba band, alongside drummer Brent Fitz, who later collaborated with renowned artists such as Alice Cooper, Gene Simmons band and Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. Ron refined his skills while touring with Seventh Heaven until their eventual separation. He then pursued writing and recording with First Ammendment from Winnipeg, culminating in the release of the CD ‘Speak.’ The single ‘Questions’ received approval for a video grant and premiered on MuchMusic’s indie spotlight in 95. As a member of the band, Ron opened for prominent acts such as Pearl Jam and Our Lady Peace. He was also extended an invitation to perform alongside esteemed musicians Burton Cummings and Valdy for the Winnipeg Children’s Telethon. Throughout his four-decade career, Gypsy Ron Parent has performed as a recording artist and in various high-profile cover and tribute acts, navigating the evolution of musical styles while preserving his passion for music and maintaining his rock edge.
